Erasmus Mundus Association Bangladesh (EMA-BD) launched its official website on October 3rd, 2024, marking a transformative step in its mission to promote international education. The event, featuring distinguished guests from the European Union and Erasmus Mundus community, showcased the website’s key features, aimed at empowering Bangladeshi students and alumni through resources, networking, and career opportunities.


Erasmus Mundus Association Bangladesh (EMA-BD) has achieved a transformative milestone with the launch of its official website, marking a new era in promoting international education and fostering connections among Erasmus scholars and alumni. The virtual event brought together distinguished guests, scholars, and alumni to celebrate this remarkable achievement. The event showcased the website’s potential to serve as a comprehensive resource hub for Bangladeshi students seeking Erasmus Mundus opportunities.



The program began with an introduction by the moderator, Syed Muhammad Baker, EMA-BD’s Country Representative, who along with Deputy Country Representative Md Mahamudul Hasan Mredul, highlighted EMA-BD’s pivotal role in bridging the gap between Erasmus alumni and prospective scholars. They emphasized the collaborative efforts of the local volunteer team, comprising Erasmus+ graduates and students, whose dedication has been instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission. The newly launched website was presented as a powerful tool to streamline access to information, foster academic connections, and strengthen the growing Erasmus Mundus community in Bangladesh.

Among the distinguished speakers, Dr. Ashiqur Rahman, President of the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA), praised the EMA-BD team for their innovative efforts. He highlighted the website as a crucial step in enhancing outreach to Bangladeshi students and building partnerships with local universities through initiatives like Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). Dr. Rahman expressed optimism about the website’s role in empowering more students to explore international education opportunities.


Adding a global perspective, Unni Kvernhusvik Sagberg from the European Commission’s DG-EAC shared her insights on Erasmus+ and its cultural and academic impact. She reflected on her personal experiences with the program and lauded EMA-BD for its ongoing commitment to fostering academic mobility and integration. She recognized the website launch as a key milestone in strengthening EMA-BD’s outreach and engagement.

The , Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, delivered a compelling speech on the Erasmus+ program’s significance in enhancing educational and cultural exchange between Bangladesh and Europe. He underscored the program’s ability to foster intercultural dialogue, equip youth with essential skills, and strengthen ties between Bangladeshi and European communities. Ambassador Miller officially inaugurated the website with a video presentation that highlighted its features, reinforcing its importance as a digital hub for the Erasmus Mundus community in Bangladesh.

The guided tour of the website, led by Fairooz Azim, Deputy Coordinator of the IT and Social Media Team, offered attendees a comprehensive view of its functionalities. The platform provides vital resources, including information on Erasmus Mundus programs, alumni and student networking opportunities, event updates, blogs, and FAQs. Designed to facilitate career development and foster a sense of community, the website aims to be an invaluable resource for Bangladeshi scholars and alumni.


An interactive Q&A session followed, allowing attendees to engage with the distinguished guests and address their questions. The event concluded with closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants who made the occasion a success. EMA-BD’s official website launch represents a significant step forward in its mission to empower Bangladeshi students and alumni. By serving as a dynamic platform for information, networking, and inspiration, the website reinforces EMA-BD’s commitment to fostering global educational opportunities and connecting the next generation of scholars with the world.
