Building Bridges: EMA at EU Alumni Night in Malaysia

The evening of 12 December marked a celebration of connection and collaboration. The European Union Alumni Night brought together a dynamic mix of professionals, scholars, and leaders at the EQ Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia hosted the event, showcasing the strength and diversity of EU Exchange Alumni and opening doors to exciting new opportunities for collaboration.



An Evening of Engagement and Networking


The National Event gathered exchange Alumni from various European Union (EU) programs, EU Delegation trainees, and esteemed representatives from universities, diplomatic missions, and non-profits in Kuala Lumpur. Attendees shared experiences, fostered partnerships, and explored ways to strengthen the network of EU alumni in Malaysia.


The atmosphere was alive with camaraderie, as stories of personal and professional growth sparked conversations and ideas for future endeavours. It was a testament to the enduring impact of EU programs on alumni who continue to contribute to their communities and professions in meaningful ways.


The Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) was prominently represented by key figures who exemplify its mission of fostering collaboration and innovation. Ronald Willie Binati, EMA’s Country Representative for Malaysia, contributed by engaging with participants and showcasing the association’s presence within the alumni network. Dr Hazariah Mohd Noh, Research and Innovation Coordinator, further emphasized EMA’s commitment to academic excellence and knowledge sharing. Meanwhile, Dr Collins Santhanasamy, EMA Board Member and Director of the Partnership Development Unit delivered a compelling presentation about EMA’s initiatives, highlighting its efforts to build bridges between alumni and organizations globally. Dr Collins also underscored the potential for future collaborations between EUD Malaysia and EMA, creating opportunities for impactful joint initiatives. Together, their presence and contributions reaffirmed EMA’s active role in connecting and empowering alumni networks worldwide.
