EMA Ongoing Pre-Departure Sessions: Bosnia & Herzegovina

The Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) continued to organise Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) sessions around the globe to welcome students who begin their Erasmus Mundus programmes. We invite you to read about the ones organised in Pakistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

On September 22nd, a Pre-Departure Session for this year's Erasmus Mundus scholarship recipients from Bosnia and Herzegovina was held online. The event was organised to prepare new scholarship holders for the upcoming academic year, answer their questions and concerns, and connect them with current students and alumni of the Erasmus Mundus program, allowing them to learn more about what to expect from their upcoming experience.

At the start of the event, the students had the opportunity to meet the Country Representatives for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ajla Vrebo and Adaleta Omerbašić, hosts of the event, who introduced them to the work of the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association (EMA) and explained their roles in connecting students and alumni. The representatives outlined how EMA contributes to building a network of former and current scholarship holders, providing them opportunities for collaboration, networking, and further professional development. After the introduction, the new scholarship holders also introduced themselves, sharing details about their study programs, the countries they would be travelling to, and their expectations from the Erasmus Mundus experience.

A special part of the event was dedicated to presenting the history of the Erasmus program, from its founding as a key initiative to promote student mobility within Europe, to the creation of the Erasmus Mundus program, which allows students to study at multiple universities around the world. The students learned about how the Erasmus Mundus program was born from a desire to create globally connected professionals with multidisciplinary knowledge and experience from different cultures and academMundusironments.
