Empowering Arab Students: Erasmus Mundus Pre-Departure Orientation for the 2024-2025 Cohort

By Razan Rashid,

EMA Director of Communications and IT Unit (CIT)

The Erasmus Mundus Arab Community proudly hosted a Pre-Departure Orientation session for the upcoming cohort of Erasmus Mundus students on September 6, 2024. This significant event was expertly led by Razan Rashid, Country Representative of Jordan, along with Asma Dalash and Fatma Hazem, Country Representatives of Egypt.

The session, designed to equip students with the essential tools and knowledge for their Erasmus Mundus experience, focused on a broad range of practical topics. Visa issues, travel and accommodation arrangements, opening bank accounts, and key insights from previous Erasmus Mundus students were all on the agenda. These discussions were crucial in addressing common concerns and ensuring students feel confident and well-prepared for their time abroad.

What made the session particularly special was the sense of community and solidarity. In addition to the hosts, students and Country Representatives from various Arab nations joined the event, creating an enriching exchange of experiences and advice. The interaction among students heading to different European countries fostered a strong sense of unity within the Erasmus Mundus Arab community, reminding everyone that they are part of a supportive global network.

As the session concluded, it was clear that the students were better informed, empowered, and ready to embark on this exciting new chapter in their academic lives. The enthusiasm and energy from the event reaffirmed the importance of such orientations in preparing students for a transformative experience abroad.

With the 2024-2025 cohort fully equipped to tackle the challenges ahead, we look forward to witnessing the remarkable journeys they will undertake as representatives of the Arab Erasmus Mundus community.
