Empowering Global Education: EMA attends OCEANS Network 2024 Annual General Meeting

By Shafag Valiyeva,

EMA Country Representative for Azerbaijan

I was honoured to represent the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association at the OCEANS Network 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Prague on 14 September. This prominent event brought together a diverse range of professionals, students, alumni, and university leaders from across the globe to discuss key topics related to global mobility, international exchange programs, and the future of education.

The OCEANS Network AGM continues to serve as a vital forum for advancing academic mobility and fostering cross-cultural understanding. By bringing together leaders from various sectors of education, the AGM offered a unique platform for igniting innovation and transformation in the field of international education.

I engaged in dynamic networking sessions where professionals from different countries exchanged insights, strategies, and successful practices. These discussions not only strengthened partnerships between attendees but also opened up new avenues for future collaboration on international educational initiatives. The emphasis on cooperation was a key takeaway, demonstrating the importance of global alliances in advancing the educational sector.

As EMA Country Representative for Azerbaijan, I had the opportunity to highlight the country’s increasing role in the global education landscape. Special attention was given to the strategic programs currently underway to increase the number of international students in Azerbaijani institutions, further establishing the country as a key player in international education.

This participation in the OCEANS Network AGM reaffirms EMA’s commitment to enhancing student mobility, fostering international partnerships, and improving the overall quality of educational exchange programs. The insights gained from the event will play a critical role in shaping future initiatives aimed at increasing internationalization within the broader scope of the Erasmus Mundus Association.
