EMA at ESAA Annual Meeting and Training

On February 3-4, 2024, EMA representatives participated in the Erasmus+ ESAA Annual Meeting and Onsite Training in Brussels, Belgium. The event provided a platform for collaboration, networking, and strategic planning with EU officials and Erasmus+ partner organizations. Discussions focused on expanding alumni networks, enhancing Erasmus+ inclusivity, and strengthening stakeholder engagement. EMA members actively contributed by sharing insights on ambassadorship, storytelling, and partnership development, reinforcing EMA’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and alumni engagement.

Strengthening Collaboration Within the Erasmus+ Community


The Erasmus+ ESAA Annual Meeting and Onsite Training brought together representatives from key Erasmus+ partner organizations, including Erasmus Student Network (ESN), garagErasmus, OCEANS, WBAA, and ASAF. EMA's participation in this gathering strengthened its role as a key player in the Erasmus+ community, working alongside other organizations to explore new strategies for enhancing the impact of alumni networks and improving accessibility within Erasmus+ programs.

During the event, EMA representatives engaged in discussions on stakeholder engagement, cross-border collaboration, and long-term alumni support. Key topics included expanding Erasmus+ opportunities, fostering inclusivity, and leveraging alumni networks to drive positive change. These discussions aimed to build a more connected and impactful Erasmus+ community by ensuring that alumni engagement remains a priority in future program developments.

EMA was well represented at the event by a dedicated team, including Razan Rashid (Director, Communications and IT Unit), Rajon Bhuiyan (Director, Outreach and Capacity Building Unit), Collins Santhanasamy (Director, Partnership Development Unit), Marvi Qazi (Director, Project Support Unit), Shahin S. Eity (Director, Policy and Quality Assurance Unit), Hazariah Mohd Noh (Coordinator, Research and Innovation Unit), and Keepa Tuladhar (Professional Development Officer, TMU).

Throughout the training, EMA representatives actively contributed to workshops and discussions on leadership, effective communication, and stakeholder engagement. Their contributions emphasized the importance of alumni-driven initiatives, particularly in ambassadorship, storytelling, and partnership development. These insights are vital for strengthening engagement with Erasmus+ alumni and ensuring their continued involvement in the program’s growth and outreach. Training sessions also provided valuable strategies for building long-term impact within alumni networks, including best practices for community engagement, leadership development, and communication strategies. These takeaways will help EMA further develop initiatives that foster meaningful connections and enhance the overall Erasmus+ experience for future participants.
