Linda Paulauska, Latvia: Service Design Strategies and Innovations (SDSI)

Innovating Global Journeys and Shaping Human Experiences. Linda Paulauska as Narrator, Experience Designer, and Contributor to the Erasmus Mundus Association.

Before joining the Erasmus Mundus programme, I already had a solid foundation with a

master's degree in management and a thriving professional career. My journey was driven by a desire to enhance my expertise and learn how to improve human experiences in services.

Initially, I was not seeking another master's degree but was more interested in high-quality courses focused on service design. During my search, I discovered the Erasmus Mundus programme which aligned perfectly with my aspirations.

The prestigious Erasmus Mundus Master's program in "Service Design Strategies and

Innovations" offered the opportunity to study in three different countries, surrounded by

classmates from around the world. As someone deeply passionate about diversity, human journeys, and human-centric design and innovation, I could not help but wonder: could anything be better?

The competition to get into the program was intense, but with hard work and determination, I succeeded. This study experience has been unlike anything I had encountered before, even within the familiar European study system. The program exposed me to diverse academic approaches and provided a unique opportunity to collaborate with peers from various cultural backgrounds. Moreover, the curriculum is strongly connected to real-world industries, emphasizing a hands-on approach that allows us to apply what we learn in practical settings, enhancing human experiences in existing scenarios.

I strive to make the most of this experience, both academically and personally. But it is not just about what I can gain—it is also about giving back. My passion for people, their journeys, and experiences—which naturally align with my role as a service designer—drives me to contribute to the community.

Recognizing a need, I voluntarily established a "local buddy" program to help incoming international students connect with local peers during their first year of study. Additionally, as a storyteller and interviewer by passion and profession, I launched a podcast series where I talk to my classmates about their journeys around the world, their Erasmus Mundus experience, and service design. Beyond that, I also became an active member of the Erasmus Mundus Association, taking on the role of Country Representative for Latvia.

The Erasmus Mundus experience (...) fosters a global mindset and builds a global network

The Erasmus Mundus experience is truly transformative. It fosters a global mindset and

builds a global network. Now, we are all connected as global colleagues, a unique

experience made possible by Erasmus Mundus.
