Mundus Erasmians 2024: Celebrating a Legacy of Learning and Collaboration

As 2024 comes to a close, the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA) proudly announces the launch of its flagship publication: Mundus Erasmians 2024. This milestone was celebrated with a signing ceremony on December 1, 2024, during the EMA Management Board meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Leading the initiative, Razy Aman Eddine expressed heartfelt gratitude to the 60+ contributors whose creativity and insights brought this publication to life. Special thanks were extended to the team of more than 10 coordinators, editors, designers and advisors who meticulously shaped its vision. A particular acknowledgment went to Adaleta Omerbasic, who skillfully managed the project from inception to completion.

This volume is a tribute to Professor Sofia Corradi, fondly known as “Mamma Erasmus” within the Erasmus community. Prof. Corradi, celebrated for her pivotal role in inspiring the Erasmus+ Programme launched in 1987, contributed a moving message of peace to this edition. EMA extends its profound gratitude to Prof. Corradi for her lifelong dedication to promoting international education and cultural exchange on her 90th birthday.

EMA Management Board members visited the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) last 1 December.

The publication also features reflections from distinguished contributors, including a former Vice-President of the European Commission and a former European Commissioner for Education and Culture. Both played key roles in creating the Erasmus Mundus action in 2004, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Their insights provide a unique perspective on the transformative impact of this initiative.

EMA appreciates the European Education and Culture Executive Agency for enriching the publication with two thought-provoking articles. These contributions reflect a shared commitment to fostering global learning opportunities and advancing cross-cultural collaboration.

Following the signing ceremony, the first signed copy of Mundus Erasmians 2024 was presented to the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) Visits & Protocol Officers. This gesture symbolized EMA’s commitment to peace, transnational learning, and multicultural education.

Mundus Erasmians 2024 celebrates the spirit of international cooperation and academic excellence that defines the Erasmus community. With its inspiring stories and transformative opportunities, EMA continues to promote the values of global education and collaboration.
