Project Summary:
An initiative of the Student and Alumni Relations Unit to improve public speaking skills among EMJMD students and alumni.
What is EMA's Public Speaking Club?

EMA’s Public Speaking Club is an initiative of the Student and Alumni Relations Unit to improve public speaking skills among EMJMD students and alumni. Speaking skills are one of the most important skills for all students and alumni in their professional lives and with this in mind EMA's S&A is organizing a monthly club where we all can talk and debate on the topic of the day and enhance our public speaking skills, build confidence, and network at the same time. This event is only open to EMA members who have created an account in the Community Portal.
How it works

EMA’s Public Speaking Club is organised on a monthly basis, and each meeting will have a new topic. Participants will know the topic when they register for the event. They are expected to prepare a few notes and bullet-points with basic research and arguments for/against the topic/question. Upon beginning the call, organisers will assign participants to either be ‘for’ or ‘against’ the topic, or to be a discussion moderator. The participants will have 10 minutes to prepare their points. The participants will be split up into groups of 3, with 1 person acting as a ‘discussion moderator’, and 2 people arguing either for/against the topic. The two people arguing for/against will have 10 minutes to present their points, and the moderator will assure that they are being respectful, and at the end will give them feedback on their speeches, and possibly declare a ‘winner’.
